TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT The first telegraph and first computers were few, slow, large and expensive and had limited applications, yet both were major advances over the technologies they superceeded and had potential to increase performance while decreasing costs by many orders of magnitude for decades to come. Construtor theory is built on, and is an extension of, computer theory and will follow the same development pattern of few, slow, large and expensive yet revolutionary early implementation, then exponentially increasing performance, affordability and applications powering economic growth for a century or more. The Internet developed by merging computer and communication technologies which had developed as separate industries & technologies from their far less capable early versions. Similarly, Earthbase (Space Seed technology) merges constructor and survival system technologies which are developing separately. EARLY APPLICATIONS Disaster Resilience: Survival System design methods that are now only applied in high value sophisticated systems (submarine, space station) have the potential to greatly enhance the disaster resilience of homes, businesses & towns. Spacebase Design: The immense logistical cost of establishing a lunar base, which constructor technology can greatly reduce, provides the need and justification for development of the first constructor system. Industrial Development: Further development and integration of robotics and machine tools on the path to constructor technology can greatly improve logistics and productivity across multiple industries, providing an earlier ROI. STEM Education: Like computer skills, constructor know-how will boost economies.
